History of Batey Farms

Batey Farms is a family owned and operated farm that has been in operation for over 100 years. The Batey family has always been committed to providing the best products to their customers.

Batey Farms was founded in 1910 by Dr. James R. Batey, a physician from Murfreesboro, Tennessee who purchased the land and built a house on it. He later bought more land and turned it into farmland to raise cattle and grow produce.

The farm had its first big break in 1914 when Dr. Batey’s son-in-law, Jules Mouton, began selling milk at his father’s farm stand on weekends because he enjoyed working outside with the animals and wanted to do something different with his life than being an attorney all day
